Canvas Printing

canvas.jpgPrinting your pictures on canvas has never been as popular as it is today. When you hear references to canvas photo prints or a print on canvas it usually refers to printing directly on specially formulated canvas with large format inkjet printers.   In the photography world it has even become a mainstream option for displaying beautiful memories on your wall. Portrait studios and wedding photographers will often display their best work on canvas because of the elegance and artistic flair it gives while artists use the technology to easily create reproductions of their work.

We specialise in printing photos on canvas to create a stunning focal point for your room or the perfect personalised gift one. Have  your special photos turned into beautiful and striking canvas prints.

Here at Digitalpro we describe any canvas prints we produce as a "Canvas Print" which for us simply refers to an image printed on canvas using both industry standard printing technology and great canvas papers.

At Digitalpro we use Canon brand archival inks (Lucia Inks) on our Canon IPF 8000 Inkjet printer which has a 12 ink printing technology. Our canvas prints are on a poly/cotton canvas base with a 2:1 weave for excellent stretching properties and added strength.

The canvas is then mounted on stretcher bars with the staples securing the canvas to the back of the print just like an artist's canvas. This is then finished professionally by covering the staples and attaching a hanger and protective foam dots. The end results are beautiful canvas textured photos on a ready to hang display.canvaswrap.jpg

White and Black Borders

We print your photos on the front surface of the canvas whilst the edges remain white or black.

This finish is ideal if there is important detail towards the edges of your photos which would be lost around the sides of the canvas if you choose a wrap edge.

Image Wrap

An image wrap is created when your photos are wrapped around the sides of the canvas.

An image wrap works best when there is  enough space around the subject so that important detail isn't lost around the edge of when printing your photos on canvas.

Importantly, you need to make sure that you allow for the depth of the wrap (either 25mm for Lightweight or 50mm for Heavyweight) on all sides of your photo before printing.

baby_crop2.jpgMake sure that when you choose a wrapped edge that there is no important detail close to the edge of your photo which will be lost around the sides of your canvas. On the example on the left, parts of both eyes are lost as a wrap has been chosen.

If your image is similar to this, we recommend choosing a White Edge or a Black Edge.
